à Other famous James Morrison's
I know strictly James Morrison is not James's real name, as he uses his middle name as his stage name. His name is James Morrison Catchpole.

However, there are many other famous faces with the name James Morrison, so here's a quick guide to a few.
à Jim Morrison of The Doors
James Douglas Morrison (8 December 1943 – 3 July 1971) was an American singer, songwriter, writer, film director, and poet.

He was best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the popular American rock band The Doors, and is considered to be one of the most charismatic and influential frontmen in the history of rock music.

He was also an author of several poetry books, a documentary, short film, and three early music videos ("The Unknown Soldier", "Moonlight Drive", and "People are Strange").

Morrison died in Paris at the age of 27.
à James Morrison the Jazz musician
James Morrison AM (born 11 November 1962 in Boorowa, New South Wales) is an Australian jazz musician who plays numerous instruments, but is best known for his trumpet playing.

He is a true multi-instrumentalist, capable of performing on the trombone, euphonium, flugelhorn, tuba, saxophone, and piano.

He is also a composer, writing jazz charts for ensembles of various sizes and proficiency levels.

He performed the opening fanfare at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, and is usually regarded as one of Australia's finest jazz musicians.
à James Morrison, Actor
James Morrison (born April 21, 1954 in Bountiful, Utah) and raised in Anchorage, Alaska is an American actor.

A professional theater actor, Morrison has been on the professional stage since the early 1980s and has won awards such as the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Performance. He has also directed theater productions.

His most recent role is that of Counter Terrorist Unit Director Bill Buchanan on 24. He began as a guest star mid-way through the fourth season (2005), and was a main cast member in the fifth and sixth seasons (2006 and 2007). He is also returning in the seventh season (2008)

On television, Morrison has guest starred in series such as Frasier, The X-Files, JAG, The West Wing and Six Feet Under.

Morrison frequently works with producers Glen Morgan and James Wong, and was a main cast member of their 1995 series Space: Above and Beyond. Another project in which he worked alongside James Wong was in the movie The One where Morrison played the role of hero Jet Li's best friend.

Morrison is also a published poet and yoga teacher.
à James Morrison, Footballer
James Clark Morrison (born May 25, 1986 in Darlington, England) is a footballer, currently playing for West Bromwich Albion. Although English-born, Morrison has chosen to play for Scotland at full-international level, if selected. His ability to run with the ball at pace makes him an effective option through the middle, as an attacking midfielder, or more often as a right winger.

Morrison is a product of Middlesbrough's youth academy. He starred in Middlesbrough's FA Youth Cup winning side in 2003-04, putting in several eye-catching performances throughout the cup run, notably scoring in the final first leg 3-0 win against Aston Villa.

His initial outings in the first team displayed some promise too. He made his first-team debut on 3 January, 2004, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 2-0 FA Cup victory against Notts County. His Premiership debut came four months later, when he replaced Stewart Downing in a 5-1 defeat away at Portsmouth on the final day of the 2003-04 season.

Morrison has played for every youth level for England apart from the full side. Along with Derby's Steve Howard and Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor, Morrison is one of a number of English Premiership players identified in June 2007 eligible to play for Scotland, and it seems that he will be taking the opportunity up, as he feels that his "opportunities with England will be limited".

On 7 August 2007, Morrison signed a four-year contract with West Bromwich Albion, for an initial £1.5 million fee. This fee could rise by a further £700,000, depending on Morrison's appearances. Morrison made his Albion debut as a 2nd-half substitute in a 2-1 defeat away at Burnley on the opening day of the 2007-08 season.
